API Google Maps

May 27, 2008 : Wouldn't it be great if you could integrate Google maps into your own website. Well you can! By using Googles own API (Application Program Interface)

The Google API map is a powerful and user friendly technology that gives your customers many interesting and appealing ways in which to gain access to mapping information.

Google Maps allows anyone to create driving directions. It can provide a user with step-by-step directions to your business destination, along with an estimated time required to reach it and a distance between the two locations.

Some of the features that can be implemented in a Google interactive map includes:

.Zooming
.Panning
.Satellite image mode
.Hybrid image mode
.Points of Interest - using custom icons

Google Maps offers three types of viewing modes by default: Map (Street map views), Satellite (satellite and high-resolution aerial photographs) and Hybrid (Street maps overlaid on satellite and high-resolution aerial photographs).

Google maps also provides an API that allows you to add additional markers and directions. If you would like to know more about the advantages of using this technology then please contact myself for further advice and costing.
